Meet diandre
Diandre is at our shelter. Please submit an application from our website or just come in to meet him during open hours!

Diandre came to us with his sister, Regina, from our shelter partner in rural Alabama. Their mom, Ruthie, arrived to us a couple of weeks prior, and we couldn't be more thrilled to have them all together! They have been through a lot together, that's for sure.
Diondre was only a week old back in March when he was seized as part of an animal cruelty investigation. His mom, Ruthie, and the litter she was nursing, as well as several other dogs were found living outside, some chained up, without access to food, water, or shelter. The owner was charged, and all of the dogs were taken in by The Greater Birmingham Humane Society. From there, a local rescue that we partner with, took in several of these dogs and puppies, and found wonderful foster homes for them.
Fate intervened and saved these pups, because you can tell they only remember having a happy "childhood"! They are affectionate, social, adorable, loving, and very well-behaved!
Diandre in particular acts as if he has always lived a life of leisure, where every day is a fun new adventure, and every sentient being is a friend. He is the is the life of the party! While his sister Regina greets people slowly, Diandre likes to skip the formalities and get right to the pets, treats, and toys! He is the classic puppy who, upon meeting anyone new, runs up to them and showers them with kisses.
Diandre would love an active family who can teach him, play with him, and enjoy all the puppy snuggles he's happy to give. If you've been looking for an adventure buddy who will happily snuggle up at the end of the day with a good book and a Kong, Diandre is waiting to meet you!
Diandre's adoption fee is $450. He is neutered, and is up to date on core vaccines.
He will need a Heartworm test between 6-7 months of age at the adopter's own vet.
Since he is a puppy, any adopter should anticipate needing to work on housebreaking and other training using positive reinforcement training only.
