Syllabus

This course has several lessons, each with a progress exam and most with supplemental learning materials, such as videos, illustrations, and/or downloadables.

In this lesson we cover the benefits of having a Canine Co-Worker and how it affects the dynamics between co-workers. Additionally, we go over the benefits employers have seen once they introduced policies that allow for dogs in the office.

Here, we examine why it’s vital to train your dog - as well as why it’s a pleasant experience for them. We establish why we believe a rewards-based approach is the best training method. One of the core components of rewards-based training is “clicker” or “marker” training. In this lesson we will explain how this training technique works. We also offer tips on how to set up an ideal training environment.

“Sit” and “stay” are two of the most needed and useful commands your dog can learn. We’ll break down every element of training these commands, including “dos and don’ts.” We also cover the “Three Ds of Dog Training,” which will allow your dog to master or proof these behaviors.

For a dog to comfortably spend the day in the office, they’ll need to constantly control some natural instincts. This gets easier over time, but it’s best to set your dog up for success. In this lesson we will teach you methods of training that will make tackling impulse control much easier for your dog.

In this lesson, we will review the dangers in the office and how to prepare the space to safely bring your furry friend into work with you. We will also list out what items are best to bring to the office to help your dog feel at home when at the office.

In this lesson, we review the need for socializing your dog and how to introduce your furry friend to their new co-workers. We also cover the fundamentals of canine behavior, communication, and body language.
