Syllabus
This course has several lessons, each with a progress exam and most with supplemental learning materials, such as videos, illustrations, and/or downloadables.
This lesson covers everything you need to know about emotional support animals, including how they help their handlers, what their legal protections are, the difference between an ESA and a service animal, what type of dogs make the best ESAs, and how to make sure your dog legally qualifies as an ESA.
In this lesson, we’ll explore who can be best helped by an emotional support animal, what the Fair Housing Act is, and common myths and misconceptions about ESAs, and what tasks your ESA can perform to support you. We also offer helpful tips on how to train your ESA while coping with mental disability symptoms that can make the process challenging.
Here, we take a close look at canine psychology and why positive training is the best method to help your dog master any skills - and strengthen the bond between you. We also cover how your pup communicates with you, how to use pack mentality while training, why it’s important to train your ESA well, and what tools you’ll need to get the job done.
In this lesson, the real training begins! We’ll cover clicker (or marker) training, as well as some foundational tips for training your pup. We’ll also cover how to teach your dog to sit, stay, and lay.
This lesson helps you take your training to the next level by teaching you how to help your dog learn loose leash walking, heel, deep pressure therapy, and face licking.
This course covers all the previous lessons, to help solidify what you’ve learned and make sure you’re ready to help your pup become housetrained. There’s also a final exam to help ensure you’ve mastered everything!
