Trained for Life Plan - Additional Terms
These Additional Terms apply to your purchase and use of the Trained for Life Plan ("Plan") and are incorporated into, and made part of, our general Terms and Conditions. In the event of any conflict between these Additional Terms and our Terms and Conditions, these Additional Terms will control for matters related to the Plan.
-
Duration and Transferability
Each Plan applies to one (1) enrolled dog and continues for the duration of its natural life, or fourteen (14) years from the date of Plan purchase, whichever occurs first. The Plan will automatically terminate at that time.
Each Plan is tied to the specific dog enrolled at the time of purchase and is not transferable to other dogs, except in re-homing cases described below.
If the enrolled dog is re-homed, the Plan may be transferred to the new dog owner, subject to payment of a one-time $300 transfer fee and the new owner's acceptance of these terms.
-
Plan Limits
Each Plan includes both virtual and in-person training services.
All training services with a live trainer (in-person or virtual) are subject to trainer availability, advance scheduling, and geographic service limits (for in-person sessions), which may change over time.
In-person training sessions are limited to two (2) sessions per week.
Virtual training sessions are limited to three (3) sessions per week.
-
Trainer Replacement and Refund
If your assigned in-person trainer leaves our platform, we will provide a replacement local trainer, if available.
If you are dissatisfied with your initial assigned in-person trainer, we will provide a one-time replacement with another local trainer, if available.
-
If no replacement trainer is available, or if you remain dissatisfied with the replacement trainer, you may be eligible to request a refund of the Plan purchase price as follows:
Full refund if requested within the first 60 days from your Plan purchase date.
Partial refund of 50% if requested after 60 days but within 12 months from your Plan purchase date.
No refunds will be issued after 12 months from your Plan purchase date.
-
Relocating
If you move to a new location within the continental United States, we will attempt to assign a new local trainer, subject to availability.
If no local in-person trainer is available, training services may continue virtually until then.
-
Aggressive Dogs or Breeds
Initial training sessions for aggressive dogs or breeds will be conducted virtually only.
Dog Academy reserves the right to determine when the dog is eligible for in-person training, based on the trainer's professional judgment.
-
Owner Responsibilities
To ensure optimal outcomes, owners are expected to actively participate in and follow the reasonable training guidance and recommendations provided by their trainer throughout the training process.
If owners wish to pursue alternative training methods or work with outside trainers, we ask that they notify us in advance to help ensure consistency and avoid conflicts with their Plan.
If it becomes clear that the owner is not following the trainer's reasonable guidance or is engaging in conflicting training practices, Dog Academy may discontinue training services under the Plan at its discretion.
