It was clear when we met Bliss that she had not felt love in quite a while. She was surrendered to a rural shelter in Kentucky this past winter, due to her owners being unable to care for her any longer. She spent several months there in a barren concrete kennel waiting to be noticed. Our contact at this shelter would spend time with Bliss outside of her kennel and noted what a gentle and special girl she was. When Bliss arrived to us she was so scared, she was trembling. She was one of the dirtiest dogs we had taken off a transport in a long while. She went straight int the bath and what we thought was brown fur became bright white! She actually has the cutest white, black, and brown markings! The majority of her coat is a beautiful sable color, with golden highlights. We could tell Bliss loved getting her bath, and it made such a difference in her demeanor almost right away!

While initially shy and hesitant to go on leashed walks, Bliss has made huge strides and enjoys being taken out and spoiled by volunteers who gladly indulge her love for treats. On walks and outside, Bliss actually has the cutest little prance-- she has some pep in her step! We think she is just so adorable with her bulky bod atop those short and stocky little legs.

Bliss has such a kind and gentle soul, and if you spend any amount of time with her you will sense it. All she wants is to be loved. She is sensitive, and it breaks our hearts when she flinches if you go over her head to pet her, as if she is expecting it to hurt.

Bliss loves people, absolutely loves dogs, is quiet, dainty, and well-mannered...and an added bonus is she gives the best head tilts! What more could you ask for?!

Bliss’s adoption fee is $300. She is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
