If you're looking for a dog who will keep you laughing and then melt into your arms for a cuddle, Bucky is your guy!

Bucky found himself in a shelter after being surrendered by his previous owner for having an attitude with visitors, including snapping and once turned into a nip. While we haven't seen this behavior in his foster home when new people are introduced properly, we absolutely believe it could happen without thoughtful introductions. Bucky needs a family who understands the importance of giving him space, respecting his boundaries, and making sure visitors are introduced appropriately.

Once he's comfortable, Bucky is a playful, fun-loving boy with a BIG personality! He loves other dogs and quickly makes friends. His favorite activities include chasing balls, playing chase through the house with his doggy buddies, and hiding under the couch so he can stick his head out, roll around, and playfully kick at his humans. He's a total goofball!

When playtime is over, Bucky turns into a giant mush. He'll climb into your lap, wrap his paws around your neck, and rest his big ol' head on your shoulder. This boy loves affection just as much as he loves having fun!

Bucky gets along well with other dogs, but he has a rough-and-tumble play style. He can get pretty enthusiastic, including charging into his playmates and playfully showing his teeth. He can also get mouthy when he's excited, so he'd do best with a similarly playful, sturdy dog who enjoys wrestling. Because of his exuberant play style and history with visitors, we recommend a home without kids under 10. 

Bucky enjoys walks, although he's surprisingly strong for his size and can pull when excited. He also has a strong interest in chasing cats, so no cats for this guy!

Bucky is still working on his housetraining and is having accidents so he'll need a patient family committed to helping him improve. He also has a BIG bark, especially when deliveries arrive or he spots something exciting outside. For that reason, no apartments, condos, or homes with shared walls.

Bucky is a hilarious, affectionate, energetic little guy who brings a whole lot of personality wherever he goes. He needs a family who appreciates his goofy antics, understands his boundaries with new people, and can help him continue learning good manners.
