Hey there — I'm Loki, a 7-year-old black Pit Bull Terrier with a heart of gold🐾
I'm neutered, housetrained, and ready for a fresh start in a calm home where I can take things at my own pace. I'm a bit shy and still building my confidence, so I do best with experienced dog folks who understand my need for patience and a quiet space.I may do best in an all adult environment.

Behavior Notes💗
Per volunteer 8/6: I took Loki out tonight for my first time. He was front & center at the kennel door, barking, and tail wagging. Loki was easy to leash and walk. Outside he allowed and seemed to enjoy all over pets. He is so smart! Sits, gives paw and lays down on command. Took treats so nicely. I had to toss a treat in his kennel, but he walked right in after it.
Per staff 8/6:
Loki & Apolo meet - Handler oriented. Sniffed Apolo with ears back and mid to low tail. When being sniffed would turn around and be face to face with a closed mouth, ears back, low tail and lip licked. Able to walk side by side, easy to move away with light leash pressure or calling.
Per Staff 7/31:
Easy to leash and came right out of kennel. Mildly pulled on the leash. Some whining, barking and exit searching while in the yard. Did solicit attention from the handlers in the yard. When attempting to leave the yard to head back to the building he stopped, sitting down and did not want to exit the yard. Was not eating any treats. Needed leash pressure and verbal encouragement to exit yard area. He then stopped multiple times on the way back to the building. Once inside he walked without hesitation and went right into kennel then removed leash with hand.
Per Staff 7/30/2026
Easy to leash, came right to the front. Pulled Hard Yes, I handled the dog. Indifferent, aloof. Mid height tail wags, slightly stiff and then eventual shake off. Walked right into kennel and unleashed without issue Howling/whining walking outside. Fixated on dog across the parking lot. Slight exit searching & avoidance behaviors in yard. Sought out attention from people walking by. Bounced a little when ball was thrown but disengaged from toys pretty quickly. Ate some pupperoni but not too interested in food.
Walksheet Notes: Loki
Loki was walked on 7/22, 7/23, 7/24, and 7/25. Loki had no general issues on 7/22 and was noted as low energy and participated in play group.
On 7/23 Lokie had mild issues out of the
kennel and significant issues entering kennel and was noted as low energy. Handler wrote “needed 2 handlers to return. Won’t eat treats. Very sweet boy”.
On 7/24 Loki had significant issues going back in the kennel and generally no other issues, with low energy. Handler wrote “very good boy. Did not enjoy return back to building or office. Under armpit leash tech.”
On 7/25 Loki had no general issues with the walk and was noted as low energy . per handler
Loki required a harness to return and was noted to have a “good walk along”
Staff 7/23/26: Kennel Presentation: In kennel sitting in the back, whale eye, tightly closed mouth. Ignoring treats. Used baby talk and showed the leash, and dog came forward slowly and was easily leashed.
Leash Skills: tail middle, looser body, walked on a loose leash.
Sociability:
Very long pee as soon as we got outside and pooped soon after. Low tail wags and squinty eyes when handlers approach.
Play: did not do
Dog Interaction: met Kendall, active avoidance, tense when approached.
Return to Kennel: pancaked at the door, pulled hard in the other direction, refused offered treats. Had to wrap a leash under his hind end for a two person lift.
7/23/26 Staff: Due to needing two handlers to return to kennel making Exp Blue
7/21/26 Staff: Leash meet with Kendall. Avoidant, tense body when face to face greeting. Would look away and lip lick. Moved away on his own.
7/21/26 Staff: BAR- patient was hyperaware of who was in the room. Patient was panting and staring at the door during the beginning of exam. Patient became comfortable with handler and allowed handler to pet the top of head and hind legs. When patients panting slowed down we placed a muzzle and administered vaccines without any reaction. Took muzzle off and gave another rub on top of head. Patient was a very good boy!
