Butterball’s quirky name perfectly fits his personality! This playful, energetic boy is looking for his forever home with a family that will give him the love and attention he deserves.


He is a young, energetic pup who loves his toys and is eager to play fetch as much as he can! Butterball has already mastered “sit” and “laydown” and is quickly learning “stay” as his next command. He is intelligent and enjoys a challenge, whether it be with new puzzles or other enrichment games to keep him engaged and focused.


Butterball is potty-trained and crate-trained, but he is still learning his manners when greeting new people or walking on the leash. He will need a family that is willing and able to continue his training so that he can thrive on his walks and in new environments.


Butterball is a big, excitable boy and would do best in a dog-savvy home that is cat-free and with children 10 and up due to his size and play style. He is easily excited and tends to get a bit jumpy when greeting people, but he is learning when it is time to calm down and will happily snuggle up on the couch with you too. While he still has some manners to learn, he is incredibly affectionate with people and had good dog meets at the shelter, though a meet and greet with current pets is a must.


Butterball is an absolute sweetheart that you are sure to fall in love with. With training and patience, he will make for an excellent companion and addition to the family. All he needs is a chance and a family that will give him the time and patience he needs to thrive.
