Cherry is a gentle soul who can be a little shy when she’s in her kennel, but don’t let that fool you—she has a heart of gold. With a bit of "baby talk" and a few tasty treats, her courage shines through, and she’s ready to head out for an adventure. Once she’s outside, she’s a total sweetheart. She is a very polite walker and appears to be housebroken, as she makes sure to take care of her business as soon as she hits the grass.

If you’re looking for a companion who loves to be close, Cherry is your girl! She is incredibly affectionate and loves to lean right into you to make sure she’s getting all the pets and head scratches she deserves. She has also shown herself to be quite social with other pups; in her recent meetings, she was neutral and friendly, even offering some submissive face kisses to her new four-legged friends.

06/25/2026 | Per volunteer: "I took cherry out last night. She is very sweet and easy going on the walk. She wanted to hug in the yard. She wanted to be pet and was very affectionate."

06/14/2026 per volunteer:
Was in the back of kennel when I approached and was hesitant to cross the threshold. With baby talk and tossing a few treats, Cherry worked up the courage to come over to be leashed. She's a very sweet dog - she did her business immediately outside. She met a male dog who was indifferent and Cherry did well being neutral. She gave him some submissive face kisses. She likes to lean into you for pets- very affectionate.
