Meet petey
Petey arrives in Wisconsin on February 22nd!
Petey—affectionately known as Petey Pie—was found abandoned outside an emergency veterinary clinic, covered in mange and full of worms. Despite such a rough start, he has already proven what
a resilient and loving little soul he is. With treatment and lots of care, his mange has healed beautifully, and he’s now looking healthy, happy, and absolutely handsome. From day one in foster care, Petey didn’t mind his bath and took his medications like a champ. He settled right in, calmly watching the world go by from his puppy pen before being introduced to the rest of the household—which includes five dogs, two ferrets, a lizard, and an 8½-year-old boy.
Petey is eating very well and currently has his own food bowl in his puppy pen so he can eat at his own pace. He was immediately eager to play with the dogs, even if the bigger ones weren’t quite
sure what to make of him yet. He’s curious about cats and will happily chase the ones willing to play back. He doesn’t bark much or make a lot of noise, but he is very playful and loves his toys—especially his rope toys and small squeaky toys. He’s currently working on potty training and is already doing his business outside. One of his favorite things is running around in the grass, chasing leaves, and enjoying the outdoors. Petey Pie is sweet, brave, and full of joy—and he’s going to make
an incredible companion for a very lucky family.

Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care.
Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once
approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250.
