Shirley is a sweet little Yorkie terrier mix around 3 years old and about 12 pounds. She can be a bit shy at first but once she feels safe her gentle personality really shines. Shirley loves toys, enjoys quiet companionship, and is happiest curled up on a lap soaking in affection.

She’s housebroken and does well with other dogs her size. Shirley may do best in an all adult home where things are calm and predictable. She’s an easygoing girl who just wants to be close to her person.

Shirley is not spayed yet but will be, and she’ll be fully vetted while in our care. She’s a lovely little dog looking for a patient, loving home to call her own.

ADOPTION PROCESS:

1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments. We will only be looking at applications!

2. Please make sure you fill out our adoption application COMPLETELY. We may not be able to respond to applications that are not completely filled out with the proper information. Side note: on our applications, the more details you provide = the better.

3. We prefer applicants live within 60 miles of Closter, NJ. (Applicants who live farther away may still apply. However, please note we do prioritize local applications as we try our best to serve our local community first.)

4. Please respect our organization, our volunteers and our process. As a reminder, our organization is a nonprofit. We receive no money from the state. We have no paid employees! This is a polite reminder that we are doing our best to make the right decisions for the animals in our care. Thank you.
