Debo is a playful, energetic, and affectionate male dog who was found as a stray and brought into the shelter by a member of the public. From the moment he meets you, his tail is wagging and his personality shines—he’s a social, wiggly, and cuddly companion who loves attention and thrives on interaction with people and other dogs.

Volunteers describe him as a happy, boisterous boy who loves to play fetch, enjoys mini zoomies when excited, and isn’t afraid to get his paws and snout dirty. During playtime with other dogs, Debo is energetic and goofy, exchanging playful bows and silly antics that match perfectly with other high-energy pups.

He is very people-oriented and adores attention—during a recent day trip, he greeted every passerby enthusiastically, loved getting pets, and was incredibly affectionate throughout the day. Debo is also eager to please, leaning into pets and allowing handling with a soft, happy expression. While he does pull on the leash at times, he is easy to leash and enjoys long walks or runs, making him a perfect companion for an active household.

Debo is looking for a home that can match his energy and enthusiasm—a family or adopter who can provide plenty of exercise, playtime, and love. He’s a funny, loving, and spirited boy whose joyful personality will brighten any home lucky enough to welcome him.

Behavior Notes:
Per volunteer 11/24/2025 (dog meet with Whiskey): Both boys were playful and bouncy, exchanging awkward, stiff poses and engaging each other in play. Their energy is a perfect match.

Per staff 11/24/25: Kennel Presentation: Laying down on the back side of the kennel looking at the guillotine door that was close. I started talking to him and he got up looking at the guillotine door with ears forward, loose body and wagging tail. I had to knock on the kennel door to get him to turn around, he jumped up on the kennel door with a soft face, ears forward, loose body and wagging tail. Took a treat gently through the bars.

Leash Skills: Easy to leash. Pulls hard through the kennels to outside and mildly pulled once outside.

Sociability: Very social, leaned into all pets and allowed all handling. Was loose and wiggly with a soft face the entire time we were interacting.

Play: n/a

Dog Interaction: Met Jackson through the fence. Both dogs were loose and wiggly giving play how's to eachother with soft faces.

Return to Kennel: Pulled hard through the kennels back to his kennel and then went right in.

Per day trip 11/23: He was very sweet and wanted to say hi to every person he possibly could. It was marathon day, so tons of runners wanted to stop by and pet him, and he LOVED all the attention. He is certainly a very high energy boy, so we walked at least a few miles, and after a short nap in the car ride, he was back to full speed. He was also very cuddly and loving all day. He is a very funny guy who loves getting his paws and snout dirty and marches to his own beat, and somebody will be very lucky to experience that.

Per volunteer 11/22: Debo is a very happy, boisterous dog. Loves to play fetch and get cuddles. He does mini zoomies when he gets excited. Full of love and energy.
