This pet needs emergency placement. Please click here to go to our emergency placement page for more information.Biscuit is on the at-risk list due to behavior concerns. In the care center, Biscuit has shown a low threshold for arousal around other dogs and during handling, with episodes of barking, lunging, and fence-line reactivity toward nearby dogs. He has also snapped at a handler when touched near his head while the leash was being adjusted, and continues to display difficulty settling once aroused, particularly in kennel and during interactions. Biscuit is social with staff in the care center, but is having troubling acclimating the longer he stays in care. Medically, Biscuit is apparently healthy.Meet Biscuit!Biscuit came to us as a stray with an unknown history and has shown himself to be energetic, curious, and social with staff. He can be reactive around other dogs and nervous in new situations, but he enjoys attention and will happily engage in play and enrichment activities. My Ideal HomeBiscuit would thrive in a calm, adult-only home. He needs an adopter experienced with dogs who require structure, patience, and guidance. A home with daily physical and mental enrichment, including walks, play, and interactive toys, will help him settle and build confidence. Slow introductions to new people and controlled environments are recommended.Good with Other Pets?Biscuit has limited dog history. In shelter observations, he has shown reactivity toward dogs, including barking, lunging, and hackling during introductions or barrier frustration. No cat history is known.Leash MannersBiscuit is a strong puller and can become reactive when walking near other dogs. He requires consistent, structured leash training and should be walked with proper equipment to manage strength and arousal. Short, focused sessions and reinforcement of default behaviors ("Leave it," "Sit," "Down") are recommended.Fun FactsBiscuit enjoys toys, enrichment games, and interactive training sessions. He leans into contact when comfortable and shows a wiggly, playful side with people he trusts. In calm, one-on-one interactions, he is affectionate and eager to engage, rewarding patience and gentle handling. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 72 Age: 2yrs 1mths 3wks
