Meet Sheeba

Sheeba is a sweet senior girl who made it safely to Wisconsin and is settling in nicely in her foster home! She’s reunited with her friend Scooby and couldn’t be happier. Sheeba is an easy-peasy girl who just wants to hang out, get pets, and enjoy all the love her foster family has to offer.

Unfortunately, Sheeba and Scooby were “found as strays” and dropped off at the shelter. They looked well cared for, and with their matching collars and leashes, it was clear they weren’t strays at all — they were someone’s beloved dogs who were sadly left at the shelter.

Scooby was able to come up on our transport in October, but Sheeba had to stay behind to finish her heartworm treatment, as she tested positive when she arrived at the shelter. She’s still completing her treatment but was able to make the trip to Wisconsin safely and is now thriving in her foster home.

From a rough start to a second chance, Sheeba is thriving. She enjoys quiet companionship, gentle play, and soaking up attention. Sheeba is also working on the basics of dog life, including potty training, crate training, and leash manners — but her easygoing personality makes it all a breeze.

We would absolutely love to find a forever home where "Scooby and Sheeba can stay together" and live out their days as best friends. To make this extra special, we’re offering a discounted adoption for both dogs together.

Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up to date dewormer,  vaccinations, and heart worm prevention (age appropriate).

ADOPTION PROCESS:
1.) Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents.

2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email.

​3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure its the right fit.

4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue.

5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have.

6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $150 once we receive proof of the procedure. We recommend spay/neuter around 6 months old.
