Like her fairy tale princess namesake, Snow White is a survivor!

Snow White’s story hasn’t been an easy one, but if you met her today, you’d never guess just how much this sweet girl has overcome. This approximately 5-year-old beauty came to us from Alabama carrying more than her share of hardships. She was treated for heartworm disease and, in March, underwent an amputation of her front left leg due to an old fracture. But Snow White is now recovered, and she’s ready for the happiest chapter of her life yet: finding a family to call her own.

After a 12-hour transport van ride, you might expect a tired, overwhelmed pup to need some time to decompress. But when Snow White was given a bath, she had something else in mind. Instead of simply enduring the experience, she gently rested her chin on the staff member caring for her, soaking up the comfort and affection. After everything she’s been through, she still chooses sweetness. She still trusts. She still wants to be close to people. And honestly, how can you not fall in love with that?

Snow White may have only three legs, but she has absolutely no shortage of heart. She’s recovered from her surgery, has no activity restrictions, and is ready to enjoy life. She does have some weight to lose, and keeping her at a healthy weight will be important to protect the joints in her remaining legs. With a sensible diet, regular activity, and a family cheering her on, she can keep moving comfortably and enjoying all the little things that make life wonderful.

We can’t change Snow White’s past. We can’t undo the pain of an old injury or give her back the leg she lost. But we can help write her future, and we hope it’s filled with soft beds, sunny afternoons, gentle hands, full hearts, and someone who sees just how special she is.

Snow White has already shown us how resilient she is. Now, she deserves to discover how beautiful life can be when you finally have a family who loves you unconditionally.

She’s been through the hard part. Now it’s time for her own fairy tale.

Could you be the happily-ever-after Snow White has been waiting for?
