Meet boo
Meet Boo, a boy who will have your heart within SECONDS of meeting him. He's really that sweet! Boo was found as a stray dog and brought to the shelter, where he's had a blast making friends with humans and dogs alike. He's a super sweet and affectionate boy who will gladly take cuddles and lean into you for some lovin. He's also a very goofy and slightly uncoordinated boy- he will keep you laughing and loving him for life!

Steer test: 2-3/5 with water 0/5 with can.
High tail with face to face greetings. Whining. Moved away on his own. Not taking corrections from dogs however steerable with water.

Per Volunteer 10/25/2026: Greeted me with a loose body and wagging tail. I very easily leashed him, and then he hopped out with a wiggly body, trying to solicit attention from us and some people walking by! Out in the play yard he is an absolute love bug. He takes pets all over and will give you kisses. He loves to run in a very wobbly uncoordinated fashion, but will just bounce around when he gets excited. Chases after toys, however didnāt seem to fetch them back. Very food motivated and takes them very gently out of my hands! Really obsessed with this boy heās truly so sweet.
Playgroup 10/21/2026:
Steer test: 4/5 with water and 3/5

Behavior Eval 10/18/2026:
Kennel Presentation: Met me at the door of his kennel with a loose, relaxed body, soft eyes, and mid tail wags. Took a hot dog gently through the door
Leash Skills: Tried to push out slightly when I opened the door. He then stood still and allowed me to secure him easily. Hopped out of the kennel on his own and pulled minimally on leash. On the way back inside, he walked calmly on a loose leash, including past 2 dogs in close proximity. Peed and pooped outside.
Sociability: When he left his kennel, a small toddler began yelling and running down the aisle toward us. I put Boo behind me and we took a few steps backward while I told the child to stop, at which point the parent picked her up. Boo stayed by my side and was attentive to me, showing no interest in the child. In the yard, he was mostly interested in sniffing and marking. He responded occasionally when I handed him a treat, otherwise exploring on his own. After several minutes, he got quick zoomies a few times and approached me to solicit attention/play. He allowed handling all over and took treats gently.
Play: Chased toys, did not possess
Dog Interaction: Saw Kelly in the adjacent yard and was interested with a stiff body, weight shifted forward, mid/high tail, then loosened and returned to me
Return to Kennel: Attempted to return with a half step and his back legs seemed to be too weak (noted as having some kind of lameness). He hopped down, I clipped him, then returned again with some momentum and the clip method with no issues.
Color Level: Gold
Recommendations and considerations:
Per Staff 10/17/2026: Adding no cats attribute. Vet nurse let me know that before and after getting surgery boo was highly fixated on the cats in surgery

Very mellow, allowed all handling, petting, and lifting into truck, walked on a leash very nicely, very sweet and calm demeanor
