Meet Shanna (ACCT-A-263889)! This sweet, happy girl came in as a stray after being found in north Philly. Estimated to be around 2 and a half years old and just under 40lb, she's been described as wiggly, friendly, and tolerant of all handling! She seems to be trying to stay potty trained and has enjoyed playing with her canine buddies in playgroup, although she can get a bit pushy when she gets excited. She's a gal with a big heart who's ready for a forever home of her own!

Playgroup notes:
10/13/2026: Steer test 3-4/5 with water. Appropriate greetings. Mid tail. Bouncy moves. Appropriate corrections
10/10/2026: Steer test 3/5 with water and 1/5 with can. Appropriate greetings and corrections. Tippy tappy moves, spins and good breaks.
10/9/2026: Good gate greetings. moves away. Got up on the bench and sat there for most of the time. tippy tappy, spin moves and then back up on the bench. Barking at the runner who brought her out when they brought another dog to the yard.
10/6/2026: Wiggly at the fence. Steer Test 5/5 with water and 0 with can. Good greetings, quick moves and play bows, started to get pushy with some of the other dogs.

Per staff 10/7/2026:
Kennel Presentation: At the front of the crate with soft eyes, ears to the side, mid tail wagging and excitement barking.
Leash Skills: Easy to leash and came right out of kennel. Mildly pulled on leash.
Sociability: Leaned into all handling with ears to side, soft eyes and wiggly body. Did jump up on me a long with leaning fully into me.
Play: n/a
Dog Interaction: in playgroup.
Return to Kennel: Hesitated to go to back into the crate, had to toss treats in and removed leash with hand.

Recommendations and considerations:

Per staff 10/6/2026: Wiggly and easy to leash in her crate. She walked well on leash to get outside with some mild pulling. She went potty right away. She solicited attention and pets. Would spin and jump for pets and while getting them. She took treats and seemed to know sit but too excited/anxious to fully sit or wait. She kept jumpy up on me gently and turning her back towards me, so that her back was fully leaned into me while I pet her. It was very silly! She did not like going back in her crate. She would eat treats outside of the crate but wouldn't not follow them in when tossed. Behavior staff walked by with pepperoni but she wouldn't follow that in either so eventually she was quickly picked up and placed in. She tried getting back out but allowed me to gently move her front half back in, and remove the leash by hand. As soon as I started latching the crate she started high pitch stress barking.

Per staff 10/5/2026: Very friendly and social girl. Loves all the attention. Wiggly, loved hugs and pets. Only needed cheese on the wall and light restraint for vaccines.
