To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- New people and things can be scary for her, particularly men, but she recovers pretty well if you let her take things at her own pace; she warmed up to the woman in her foster home within a couple of hours, while it took almost a week for her to be comfortable with the calm, quiet man in the home - Once she has warmed up, she is a laid-back cuddle bug who loves being near her people; recently began wagging her tail in her foster home and getting the zoomies! - Will likely open up even more once she's in a home environment and has had time to decompress - Sights and sounds may startle her if they're new, loud or scary - Knows sit, down and outside; loves treats but responds especially well to praise - Has been fully potty trained in her foster home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine - Does well on a leash, but may pull occasionally, especially if she sees other dogs or people - Will likely do best in a quiet home with more mature family members- Has been doing very well with the dog in her foster home and likes snuggling up close to him; generally laid back with other dogs but does have some FOMO - if one dog gets a treat, she wants one at the exact same time; would probably do well with a like-minded dog friend who is not too pushy and is OK with her desire to snuggle (dog intro recommended)- Did well with cats in a previous home - Has the cutest underbite! The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed.
