Meet toby
Meet Toby! THRIVING IN FOSTER! SEE UPDATES BELOW!
He may only be seven months old and 38 pounds, but Toby sure does pack a lot of mixed breed magic into one handsome package! Just check out his adorable pink speckled nose!
Toby arrived at GLDR with his brother Timmy. Sadly, their previous owner was evicted and left both of them abandoned at the home. These boys deserve so much more in life and we promise we'd find them amazing families! Happily, Timmy has already been adopted so lets help Toby find his forever family too!
Toby is currently loving life in an amazing foster home! He lives with two smaller dogs and is great at picking up on cues from them. Toby enjoys the company of other pups and could make an excellent pal for your family fur baby! He's well on his way to being house-trained and has been an excellent houseguest!
Toby already knows how to sit and is in the process of learning more commands. He takes his treats very gently and is eager to please. He appreciates a variety of tasty morsels and has excellent eye contact as well. His foster family is able to take both toys and treats away with no issue.
Toby went on a outing with some of our awesome volunteers and had the best time! They did a 3-mile hike on the Paint Creek Trail followed by a stop off a the pet store. Toby needs assistance getting in the car, but rides well once he's in. Toby's leash skills are improving everyday and with consistent practice we know he'll make an great walking buddy. He had a blast exploring the water and meeting new friends on the trail. The outing finished off with a delicious ice cream cone which Toby loved. The volunteers were impressed by how well-behaved he was on his adventure!
Toby is a fan of all sorts of toys and squeaky, crinkle, and antlers are his favorites. He does seem to have a bit of a prey drive so if you want a pup to keep your yard squirrel-free, he's your man! Toby is tolerant of handling and once he bestows one of his gentle kisses on you, good luck not thinking about him every moment from then on. After some nice couch cuddling, Toby sleeps quietly through the night on his dog bed.
Based on our evaluation, we feel Toby would best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages five and up. He may have the potential to live in a home with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby.
