Norwegian Elkhounds are loyal, affectionate, intelligent, playful, and confident dogs. They tend to form strong bonds with their people and can be wonderfully cuddly and devoted companions. Theyre also curious and eager to be involved in whatever their family is doing. As a working breed, they have plenty of energy and enjoy walks, playtime, training, and mental enrichment. They can also be vocal and somewhat independent. They typically grow to around 1821 inches tall and 4060 pounds as adults and have a thick double coat that sheds. The right home These puppies would do well with families who are ready to be actively involved in their lives and provide: Daily walks, play, exercise, and enrichment Consistent, positive training and socialization Plenty of interaction and companionship Patience with normal puppy behaviors like chewing, accidents, and lots of energy A commitment to continuing their training and exercise as they grow They may not be the best fit for someone looking for a very calm, low-energy dog or a dog that will be content spending most of the day alone.
