⭐Behavioral Notes⭐

Playgroup 8/16:
Steer test: 4/5 with water and can
First in the yard. Good gate greetings with loose body, mid tail, soft eyes and ears to the side. When Juice came in he did a rush greeting. Samaya's hackles raised, low vocalizng when Juice was being pushy.

08/12/2026 Playgroup
Steer Test - Water 3/5, Can 3/5
First dog into the yard. When greeted, mid tail wag, ears back, moved away with play bows. Good greetings. Got a bit pushy towards the end of play.

08/08/2026 per staff:
Dog Meet w/ Walter - at fence body loose and wiggly, ears to the side, soft eyes, closed mouth, very interested in walter, would move along the fence wherever he went. In grass yard, would pull very strongly to sniff other dog. Immediately went for butt sniff, tail up and stiff, strong gaze, ears neutral-to side, would then sniff walter's face and then move away. Would allow walter to sniff back and move away. After a couple sniffs on each end, Samaya initiated push/pull playstyle with good pauses in between.

08/08/2026 per volunteer behavioral eval:
Kennel Presentation: At front of kennel with ears at attention/soft eyes. Stayed close to kennel door and still as I leashed.

Leash Skills: Pulls moderately but was not difficult to walk.

Sociability: In dog run, once leash was dropped, Samaya started to sniff all around the yard. When approached with a treat, she took it right away. She would look up for squeaky toy sounds and chase but not retrieve. She leaned back into butt pets. When picking up her leash near her head, she slightly flinched.

Play: Not very interested in chasing, did respond to squeaky toy sounds.

Dog Interaction: Walked by dogs but no close interaction. When seeing dogs on leash, Samaya looked but did not pull towards at the distance we saw them.

Return to Kennel: Hopped in herself for her treat.
