Meet simba snicker smooches

Simba is 71 pounds of golden, big-boy presence... and really, what more could you ask for from a dog who's thicker than a Snickers with a perfectly blocky head to match? Simba is a lover boy looking for a quiet life as your resident dog rug. He's soft, dreamy, and fully committed to making your home a cozier place.

We think Simba is a bully mix of some sort, but he is a rescue, so his exact age and breed are unknown and cannot be guaranteed. We estimate him to be around 4 years old, and he has that wonderfully mellow, mature-boy temperament to prove it.

Go watch Simba on YouTube, then come right back to read more. His video is the perfect introduction to his happy wiggles, gentle heart, and the easygoing personality that makes him such a joy to be around.

Imagine coming home to a big ol' wiggle butt who heard your car pull in and has absolutely no intention of hiding how excited he is to see you. That's Simba! He is mindful of his size, and while he loves snuggles and a good booty scratch, he's just as happy to soak up the comfort of simply being near his people. He'll happily settle beside you with no expectations beyond sharing your company. He's a sweet, treat-motivated, snuggly boy with wonderful house manners. Simba already knows "sit," is both house and crate trained, and is eager to keep learning.

Simba is wonderful with other dogs and has been well socialized with a wide variety of personalities. He isn't the type who's looking to wrestle all day, except for maybe with his bestie Lad, but he'll happily join in if another dog invites him to play. As easygoing as he is, we think he'd enjoy life with another relaxed dog just as much as he'd thrive soaking up all the attention as your one and only.

Simba is friendly with everyone he meets, but in our experience, he'd much rather spend a lazy afternoon at home than bop around town socializing all day. That said, he's great in the car, so when an adventure, road trip, or weekend getaway is on the agenda, he's happily along for the ride. Windows down, of course, and if there's an open front seat... Simba already called shotgun.

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
