Meet appa
Meet Appa!
Appa is the sweetest little guy with a whole lot of love to give! He’s wonderful with other dogs and cats, and he previously lived in a home with children. He’s potty trained, has great house manners, and doesn’t bother visitors. He can even use a designated potty spot when getting outside isn’t possible. Talk about a good boy!
A few things Appa’s future family should know:
• He’s still working on his leash skills and seems much more accustomed to running and playing off-leash in a yard.
• He LOVES car rides!
• He is VERY food motivated and will do just about anything for a tasty treat.
• He’s a little counter surfer, so he’ll need some help learning to keep those paws on the floor.
• Crates and grooming aren’t exactly his favorite things, but he does well loose in the house.
• He’s also a self-appointed security officer who will alert you if a dangerous blinking light or suspicious leaf blows past the door.
Appa is incredibly lovable, easygoing, and ready to be someone’s very best little buddy.

- Complete our Adoption Survey on the Adopt page of our website at https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-survey to expedite the process and arrange a meet-and-greet. Expect a response within about a week; please check your spam folder. As we're 100% volunteer-run, your patience is appreciated!
Requirements And Donations
- Required Adoption Day Items: A martingale collar and a non-retractable leash (available for purchase at ODHS).
- Adoption Donations: Puppies (under 1 year): $375; Adults: $275; Seniors (age-dependent): $175; Select dogs: $500. We accept cash, debit, and credit cards.
- Adoption Radius: Within 350 miles of Fredericksburg, VA. A $50 out-of-state fee applies.
- Breed Identification: Dogs are listed as "Mixed Breed" unless formal documentation is available.

- Visit our adoption center at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 during adoption hours: Wednesday 5-7 PM; Friday 6-8 PM; and Saturday 10AM-4PM.
