Meet Face (ACCT-A-254229)! This charming girl is looking for a home where she can be the center of your world. Face is a total sweetheart who absolutely blossoms when you talk to her in a soft, "baby voice"—she’ll come right up to ask for all the pets and head scratches you can give!

Face is full of life and love. She has a playful, bouncy personality and has been known to show off her zoomies when she’s outside. She is a compact girl, which makes her manageable even when she gets a little excited on her walks. While she is still working on her leash manners, she is very easy to handle and is always happy to go for an adventure.

Inside the shelter, Face is a dream to handle. She leans right into her human friends for affection and will even jump up gently to give you a hug. She is a smart girl who presents herself beautifully at her kennel door with soft eyes and a wagging tail.

Face has met a few dog friends here at the shelter. She tends to be quite vocal and "comes on strong" when meeting new canine companions, so she may prefer to be the only pet in the home or would need a slow introduction to very patient dogs. She is also an agile girl who has a history of jumping fences, so a secure yard or supervised outdoor time would be best for her.

⭐Behavioral Notes⭐

07/05/2026 per staff behavioral eval:
Kennel Presentation: At the front of the kennel when I approached. Soft eyes, ears to the side and mid tail loosely wagging.

Leash Skills: Easy to leash and came right out. mildly through the kennels towards other dogs kennels. She's on the smaller side so even with the pulling it was manageable. Outside she was at the end of the leash pulling, circling and zooming on the leash.

Sociability: Jumped up on me with her front paws on my torso. leaned into all handling with soft eyes, ears to the side and mid tail wags. Not interested in the treats that I had.

Play: n/a

Dog Interaction: Met another dog. pulls towards the fence line, good greetings with high tail and moved away on her own. Comes on strong, bounces away.

Return to Kennel: Went right into kennel and removed leash with hand.

07/05/2026 per staff:
Adding good dog meet and selective reactive waiver. Face comes on quickly for face to face greetings, was able to sniff Sylvia and moved away. Went back and come on strong again then became vocal.

Sylvia & Face meet - Came on quickly, able to sniff Sylvia with a food distraction. Face to face, came on quickly, high tail, bounces away. Came on strong for another greetings, got vocal and was moved away.

07/02/2026 per staff:
did a dog meet with April Jonas. Was immediately aroused and jumped side to side in front of the other dog. She let out a huff while jumping, but then stopped for face sniffs. She had a high wagging tail while they sniffed faces, then she jumped away after a few seconds. They sniffed around and ignored each other briefly, then Face began jumping side to side again, getting more vocal. The other dog mirrored her behavior and got jumpy back. They made contact while both being jumpy. Right before making contact, Face had let out a frustrated bark, then got grumbly when they jumped at each other. They were quickly separated.

Face was very easy to handle one on one and enjoyed pets. No issues exiting or returning to kennel.

06/30/2026 per staff:
Upon approach , the ears were tucked back , low posture , low tail wagging. After some attempts we were able to leash her . Does not do well on leash but probably from lack of training? . She began to open up fully when I bent down and talked in a baby voice . She came up to me asking for pets . Was able to pick her up into the van . : will update upon shelter arrival
