Meet Boston Crème!
Personality
He’s a true velcro dog in a tender, “I feel safe when I’m near you” way. Because he can’t hear well and has some vision loss, he bonds deeply with his person and loves the comfort of knowing you’re close. He’s incredibly affectionate, super cuddly, and curious about every human he meets.
Great With People
He’s wonderful with adults and kids. Gentle, patient, and calm, he enjoys being around people of all ages and thrives in a home where he can be part of the family’s daily rhythm.
Leash & Home Skills
This gentleman has excellent leash manners. He doesn’t pull, walks at a calm pace, and checks in with his human for guidance. Indoors, he’s easygoing and polite. He may need a gentle touch to wake him or a little help navigating steps, but he takes direction beautifully and with so much trust.
Dog Social Skills
He’s wonderfully neutral with other dogs. Curious, polite, and completely non‑territorial. He coexists peacefully and doesn’t seek conflict or competition. He’s just happy to be part of the scene.

Old Dominion Humane Society (ODHS) Adoption Process
- Complete our Adoption Survey on the Adopt page of our website at https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-survey to expedite the process and arrange a meet-and-greet. Expect a response within about a week; please check your spam folder. As we're 100% volunteer-run, your patience is appreciated!
Requirements And Donations
- Required Adoption Day Items: A martingale collar and a non-retractable leash (available for purchase at ODHS).
- Adoption Donations: Puppies (under 1 year): $375; Adults: $275; Seniors (age-dependent): $175; Select dogs: $500. We accept cash, debit, and credit cards.
- Adoption Radius: Within 350 miles of Fredericksburg, VA. A $50 out-of-state fee applies.
- Breed Identification: Dogs are listed as "Mixed Breed" unless formal documentation is available.
Location And Hours
- Visit our adoption center at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 during adoption hours: Wednesday 5-7 PM; Friday 6-8 PM; and Saturday 10AM-4PM.
