Sue Has Arrived in Wisconsin and Is Settling Into Foster Care

Sue has officially made the journey from Georgia to Wisconsin with Mutt Life Dog Rescue and is now settling into her foster home. After a difficult start and a long trip north, she is getting the opportunity to decompress, feel safe, and continue building confidence in a loving environment.

Sue is a 1.5-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix weighing just 11 pounds. Before entering rescue, she was found as a terrified stray and was so frightened that she had to be safely caught using a cat trap. When she arrived at the shelter, she was also dealing with a skin condition, which has been responding well to treatment and continues to improve.

The shelter environment was overwhelming for Sue, and she spent much of her time fearful and withdrawn. Everything changed when she moved into a foster home with other dogs. Surrounded by canine companionship and patient care, Sue began to blossom. She showed everyone the sweet, affectionate dog that had been hiding beneath her fears.

Sue loves being close to her people. She enjoys snuggling, giving kisses, and spending quiet time with those she trusts. While she may need a little time to adjust to new situations, she has repeatedly shown that once she feels safe, her loving personality shines through.

She is potty trained, crate trained, and continues working on her leash skills. Sue has a medium-to-lower energy level and would thrive in a calm home where she can continue building confidence at her own pace.
