Meet Olivia’s Babies-NOW LOCALMama Olivia — a gorgeous dappled girl who looks to be some kind of hound/doxie mix — was dumped pregnant in rural Mississippi. Thankfully, a rescuer was able to trap her safely and get her to one of our foster homes, where she gave birth to ELEVEN puppies on February 15th.Yes… eleven. These babies are now 13 weeks old, have had all the required vaccines for travel, and, honestly, one is cuter than the other. Some look just like mama, while several are stunning, solid black pups. We have absolutely no idea who daddy was, but he clearly contributed to a pretty adorable litter.The puppies are exactly what puppies should be:• Fun• Curious• Into absolutely everything• Currently learning crate training• Definitely still working on the whole “housebroken” thing Please, please consider the work that comes with a puppy before applying:• Middle-of-the-night potty trips• Crate training• Socialization• Chewing stages• Puppy classes/basic training (required)• Patience and consistency for the next year+Puppies are not born knowing how to be good dogs — that part is up to us humans. We really don’t want someone calling in a year saying their dog is behaving badly and needs to come back because training and structure never happened.That said? We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested. ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for your benefit and your puppy's, so if you experience behavioral issues, you have a point of contact.  IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher.
