Poppy found herself in a rural county shelter along with Daisy (our new mama dog,) an we think they might be related. Two brace girls who stuck together through it all. Now that Daisy's busy with her puppies, it's Poppy's turn to shine! At just about 1 year old, she's full of life and ready for her next chapter. Poppy is the kind of dog who will belly crawl right into your heart-gentle, affectionate, hikes, or just explore the world with her people. She's ready to trade shelter walls for sunshine, trails and love. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a heart as big as her smile, come meet Poppy! www.barktownrescue.org/adopt POPPY'S ADOPTION FEE IS $200 The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess. Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up. All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
