Sprout Has Arrived in Wisconsin and Is Looking for His Forever Home

Sprout arrived in Wisconsin and is currently settling into his foster home with Mutt Life Dog Rescue. He is doing well and is now ready to find a loving forever family.

Meet Sprout

Sprout is a 5-month-old Lab/Shar Pei mix who is just a big squishy puppy looking for love. He and his brother, Spud, were originally found as strays and ended up in an Arkansas shelter before getting the chance to travel to Wisconsin for a fresh start.

With his wrinkly face and gentle expression, Sprout is hard not to fall for. He has a sweet, friendly personality and enjoys spending time with people. He is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly. He’s playful like any puppy, but he also loves affection and being close to his humans.

He is doing well potty training, almost fully potty trained and does well in the crate when his foster is not home.

Sprout gets along well with other dogs and kids, and with slow introductions he will likely do fine with cats. Despite his young age, he is doing well with crate training, potty training, and learning how to walk nicely on a leash. He is growing into an amazing companion. He is the bigger one of the 2 brothers at around 45lbs, while his brother is around 35lbs. We believe he will be a BIG boy when fully grown.

ADOPTION PROCESS:
1.) Apply: Fill out an adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents.

2.) Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email.

3.) Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: After approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5-day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit.

4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue.

5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process, we conduct a home visit either in person or via Zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have.

6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI, or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $125 once we receive proof of the procedure. We recommend spay/neuter around 6 months old.
