Meet nino

Meet Nino, a high-energy, affectionate boy who is ready to be someone’s whole world! Surrendered by his owners of three years due to a no-pet policy, Nino is a friendly and playful companion who loves the outdoors, enjoys toys, and adores treats—especially bacon. He’s mostly housebroken, crate trained, and walks well on a leash, making him a great addition to an active family.

Nino shines during meet-and-greets, immediately approaching adopters with a wagging tail and allowing handling from everyone. He loves attention, will sit by you to be petted, and is eager to make connections with people. He enjoys dog play, though he can be a bit pushy at times, so supervised introductions are best. He’s great with children and strangers, but “crazy” about cats, so a cat-free home is ideal.

With his boundless energy, playful personality, and heart full of love, Nino is looking for a home that can keep up with his fun-loving spirit and give him all the attention he deserves.

⭐Behavior Notes⭐
Per volunteer 3/31: I was told that Nino was leash biting the other day with one of the ACA's. I had him out a few times over the past week, the most recent being last night, and have not experienced that behavior from him. So it's definitely not something he normally does.

Per volunteer 3/24: He probably should not play with stuffed chew toys. As we were getting ready to leave the yard, he didn’t want to give up the toy and we were having a bit of a tug-of-war. He managed to tear off and swallow the leg of one of the plush toys and medical needed to induce vomiting.

3/23 Per ACA: Easy to leash, came right to the front. Pulled Mildly I did minimal handling. He would look back at me and lip lick, seemed mildly anxious about it, I pet three times on his back then stopped and he returned back to walking and sniffing Walked right into kennel and unleashed without issue

Per staff 3/16/26: Sweetest boy for adoption meet! Easy to leash and came out with his tail wagging and eager to say hello. Pulls minimally on the leash and barked in excitement when a row of dogs was barking at him. Trying to stay housetrained and waited to pee until we got outside. Immediately approached adopters in the meet and greet room with no treats and allowed all over handling from everyone. Takes treats a bit snatchy so recommend a flat palm to give them. Loves to get pets and sit by you to solicit attention

Playgroup 3/10/26: Steer test 3/5 with water. At the gate mid tail wags and ears forward when meeting diesel and Kane. In the yard getting diesel immediately on entry with mid high wags then necked diesel attempting to mount. Bouncey push/pull while attempting to mount both diesel and Kane. Overly pushy with diesel, putting head over neck, diesel went to correct and he did not take correction until steered away.

Per owner 3/6/26: Nino was surrendered by his owner of 3 years due to their landlord creating a no pet policy. They described him as being very friendly, a house pet who loves to play a lot, loves the outdoors, has never been vicious, loves kids (lived with a 5 year old). They said he is mostly housebroken, lives inside, is crate trained, and high energy. He does not have behavior concerns, walks well on leash, likes bacon treats and chew toys, and is good with strangers, children, and other dogs and is "crazy" towards cats. The owner said his ideal home is one who will love and care for him and they expressed that he is their world.
