Meet river
River (approximately 52 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Tennessee. Full disclosure - we are all madly in love with this silly boy. He is very strong on leash and can be socially awkward with people, but it is all part of his charm. River ADORES people and loves to spend time with them. He's not always sure the best way to go about it...for example, one time we were cuddling and he decided that the best way to show his love was to put my hair in his mouth. Sigh. But it was really cute and easy to correct and we moved on to some serious snuggling afterwards. We suspect that he is a mix of some type of herding breed, which means that you can expect intelligence and lots of energy from the beefcake. River is going to want to be involved in all kinds of activity with his people, whether you are outdoors or indoors, this guy is just happy to be with you. He was introduced to other dogs at his previous shelter and did very well with them.
