💙 Meet Kevin — A Tender Heart Trapped in a Loud Place 💙
Some dogs struggle quietly behind kennel doors.
Kevin is one of them.
Kevin is a 2–3 year old, 45-pound mixed breed boy with a soft tan-and-white coat and the most adorable speckled nose you’ve ever seen. He’s fully vetted, athletic, and absolutely overflowing with love — but the shelter environment has been especially hard on this sensitive soul.
Inside the kennel, Kevin feels overwhelmed.
Outside of it? He’s a completely different dog.
Once he’s out, Kevin transforms into a sweet, affectionate, top-notch snuggler who leans in for pets and soaks up every ounce of kindness. He’s highly treat-motivated and eager to please. While he may hesitate at first on walks, pick up the pace and he’s right there with you — making him a great jogging or adventure buddy.
Kevin has done well on leash walks with multiple dogs and truly shines with canine companionship. On one walk with a tolerant female, he gained confidence, tried to initiate play, then did the most heart-melting thing — laid down, crawled over, and gently licked her face. Volunteers are still swooning.
He’s also shown positive potential with cats, approaching them with curiosity rather than intensity — even seeming a bit unsure at first.
Kevin seeks connection.
He seeks safety.
And yes — if you walk near cars, he may try to hop in, clearly hoping to escape the chaos and head home. Honestly… who could blame him?
