Kingston is a sweet, affectionate boy who has been part of our community since 2024. He originally came to the shelter as a stray, was happily reclaimed by his owner, and recently returned after being found as a stray in January 2026. Kingston is a gentle, friendly companion who loves people and attention—he’ll happily put his head in your lap for pets and will even nudge you to keep the love going!

He walks well on a leash, responds to basic commands, and is eager to explore the world around him. Kingston is slightly jumpy at times, but with gentle redirection he calms quickly and enjoys spending quality time with his humans. His low-to-medium tail wag, soft eyes, and calm demeanor make him a comforting presence in any home.

Kingston is looking for a loving home that will appreciate his sweet, patient nature. With a little time and care, he’s ready to become a devoted companion and fill your days with affection, cuddles, and gentle companionship.

Behavior Notes:
Per staff 1/31/26: Took Kingston out to demonstrate handling for a new volunteer. He was eager to exit the kennel and pushed forward initially, but was quickly and safely looped and led out. He walked well on leash and went outside for a brief potty break, where he urinated promptly. He accepted treats gently and was slightly jumpy, but responded well to redirection when the handler turned their body away. He returned to his kennel easily.

Per staff 1/19/26: Dog shows signs of being friendly, low to med tail wag, soft eyes, ears down. Responds to basic commands.

Per staff 4/18/24: Ernesto is a very sweet boy. He loves attention and putting his head on your lap. When you stop petting, he will nudge you with his head to continue petting
