Meet taylor
Meet Taylor, a goofy, affectionate girl whose world was turned upside down through no fault of her own. Taylor was originally adopted in 2024 and spent the last two years in a loving home. Unfortunately, her family was forced to relocate out of the country due to housing restrictions, making the heartbreaking decision to surrender her. Now, Taylor is hoping someone will give her the second chance she deserves.
Taylor is a wonderful companion who absolutely adores people. She has never met a stranger she didn't want to be friends with and loves greeting her favorite humans with her signature zoomies—and often by proudly carrying over a toy as a "gift" to welcome you home. She's incredibly expressive, full of personality, and has a silly side that's guaranteed to make you smile every day. Whether she's curling up for a cuddle on the couch, exploring the outdoors, or stretching out for a cozy nap, Taylor is happiest when she's spending time with her people.
This medium-energy girl is always up for an adventure! She enjoys walks, sniffing around outside, and playing with just about every toy you can imagine—from tennis balls and squeaky toys to rope toys, stuffed animals, puzzle toys, Kongs, and bones. She's especially food motivated, making training both fun and rewarding. Taylor already knows several commands, including **sit, down, stay, leave it, off, no,** and **go potty**, and she takes great pride in showing off her skills (especially if peanut butter treats are involved!).
Taylor would thrive in a home where she can continue getting regular exercise and enrichment. Her previous family shared that she's a quiet dog who rarely barks, making her an excellent housemate. They also noted that she can become reactive toward other dogs while on leash, so she is looking for a home where she can be the only pet and where her adopter can continue helping her navigate the world with thoughtful management and positive reinforcement. Her ideal home would include a yard where she can run, play, and enjoy her favorite zoomies.

Behavior Notes:
Per owner 7/4/26: Taylor was surrendered by her owner of 2 years due to housing restrictions and needing to move out of the country. She lived with adults, lived indoors, is mostly housebroken and occasionally has accidents, will go in a crate but cries and whines, is medium energy, pulls a little on leash, enjoys peanut butter treats and bully sticks. She sleeps on the owners bed, knows her name, and knows commands sit, down, no, off, stay, leave it, and go potty. She likes rope toys, balls, squeaky toys, bones, stuffed animals, puzzle toys with treats, kongs. She also enjoys exploring outdoors, going for walks, napping, being pet, and snuggling/cuddling her owners.
She does sometimes get overstimulated and can be reactive towards other dogs. In one instance, her leash broke while on a walk, and Taylor lunged and latched onto another dog. It ended up being just a nip with no blood. Overall her owner noted that she can be reactive to other dogs, distance for reactivity is around 20-30 feet. Will freeze and stare, if closer, will start to pull and growl. Reactivity is less when she has her regular exercise or under temporary anxiety medication.
Otherwise, she is super friendly towards strangers, has never interacted with children, and can be reactive towards cats.
They also noted that she has sensitivity to chicken and seasonal allergies (pollen).
"The perfect home for Taylor would be ideally someplace with a yard, and to an owner who does not have other animals in the house. While Taylor is used to living in apartments, she needs a lot of exercise to keep her energy levels in check. She is terrific with people and loves strangers and familiar faces alike, so she would do great in a household with more people as well."
Their favorite thing about Taylor: She is very quiet, and rarely barks, which is great for apartment living. She is also incredibly goofy and expressive, her main form of communications is zoomies, and she will always bring you a present when she is happy to see you!
2/10/24 I got Taylor out for some activity time today! In the kennel she was wiggly and loose and allowed me to leash her without any issues. When we got into the room Taylor did some zoomies and continued her wiggling! She took treats from my hand gently and didn't seem to have any preference. This girl just loves treats! We played with some toys as well. Taylor loved anything she could chase! She liked squeaky toys and tennis balls, and would zoom around the room with them in her mouth. When she was done playing she came running into my lap for love. Our cuddle time ended when she smelled some new treats and she climbed out of my lap to investigate. This girl is all about the treats! I'm sure she'd be very trainable with how food motivated she is. If you need a new vacuum cleaner for your spilled food, look no further than Taylor! Overall she's a hungry, treat motivated girl who just needs someone that understands her.
2/1/24 Per Volunteer: Taylor is one photogenic pup! Taylor was easy to walk on the leash. She had multiple dog fence meets and sniffed, said hello and moved along. She was very neutral but friendly. We passed a small dog on leash and she walked by like a pro! She had no interest in toys with me. She took treats gently. The only exception would be if I was holding a treat up ( for a picture!) and she would jump a bit to grab the treat. No concerns though. Allowed handling all over.
1/30/24 Taylor got to play in playgroup today! She greeted dogs with some raised hackles initially, but they seemed more arousal than reactivity. She does not enjoy rough play and chooses to try to disengage. Will correct if cannot escape situation. Definitely prefers gentle push/pull play and submissive dogs. Taylor was more interest in the people in the yard than the other dogs.
1/29/24 Taylor was very easy to leash in kennel! She had soft eyes and a wagging tail at the front and was very patient. She sniffed the leash and then allowed the handler to loop it over her head without any issues. Taylor was friendly in the room and upon entering trotted around exploring. She had soft eyes and a wagging tail seeking out attention from both of us. She was tolerant and relaxed with full body petting, but preferred to run around and play vs get affection. She is very food motivated as well but can be quite snatchy so use an open palm! Possible guarding but accepts trades and loses interest quickly. When she was in possession of toys she would shake them in her mouth. If I pet her she would head whip a bit at me and give air snaps but it seemed to be more out of arousal vs guarding.
1/28/24 Sweet but timid girl. She flinched away when I tried to scan her for a chip, and flinched a bit when I gently petted her head, but then would put her paws up on my lap.
