She's happiest relaxing near her favorite humans, finding a comfy dog bed, and keeping an eye on the world around her.

Luna is the proud mama of Star, and the two have spent time together in foster care. While they share a special connection, they're also beginning to enjoy having their own space and independence. Luna is ready to find a family who will give her all the love and comfort she deserves in her golden years!

- Low-key lifestyle: Luna has a medium energy level but prefers a quieter home where she can spend plenty of time lounging and napping.

- A little sunshine lover: She enjoys going outside throughout the day and taking in everything happening around her.

- Knows a few commands: Luna appears to know sit, lie down, and come. She responds well to gentle correction and guidance.

- Good on a leash: She walks nicely and enjoys getting outside.

- Friendly with new people: She may be a little tentative at first, but she warms up nicely once she gets comfortable.

- House-trained: Luna is house-trained, although she may occasionally have an accident as she adjusts to a new environment.

Luna has been around other dogs, but she's a little particular about her canine friends. She does well with some dogs, while others make her uncomfortable, so slow introductions in a neutral setting will be important. She would likely do best as the only dog or with a carefully matched canine companion. We would not recommend a home with cats or small pets.

Luna hasn't been exposed to children in her foster home, but she may do well with older, respectful kids. She can be vocal when she hears noises or gets excited, so a quieter home without too much activity would be ideal. Apartment or condo living may not be the best fit because she does enjoy expressing herself!

A few things her future family should know: Luna has no teeth, so she eats wet food (or soaked dry food), and she's not a fan of car rides (she'll probably let you know with some whining!). She also does best with a consistent routine and continued positive training. Her foster mom is home most days, so a family that can provide companionship and help her adjust to being alone would be wonderful.

Luna's daily schedule is pretty simple: wake up, head outside, enjoy breakfast and a snack, find a cozy spot for a nap, and repeat! She's not looking for a marathon hiking partner or an action-packed schedule. She's looking for someone who appreciates a sweet senior girl who wants to spend her days being loved.
