ZOE: Chiweenie German Pinscher Mix / Spayed Female / 1 Year Old / 15 lbs
Zoe is a calm, docile, and independent young girl with a tender heart. Although she can be shy and reserved at first, she is not aggressive. She simply needs a little patience and understanding to feel comfortable with new people. Once she begins to feel safe, she will approach on her own to ask for gentle pets, quietly showing you that she is ready to trust. Beneath her reserved nature is a sweet girl who deserves the opportunity to feel secure and loved.
Zoe gets along well with other dogs, is not destructive, and is crate trained. She would thrive in a patient, loving home where she can settle in at her own pace, build confidence, and learn that the world can be a kind and beautiful place.
Zoe's story is heartbreaking. After her previous owner, a person experiencing homelessness, passed away, Zoe and her little friend were left without anyone willing to take responsibility for them. Through no fault of their own, these two innocent dogs were facing the terrifying possibility of being surrendered to the Canine and Feline Care Center (CAC) for euthanasia. When the rescuer learned of their desperate situation, they stepped in to save them and give them a second chance at life.
