TOMMY: Dandie Dinmont Mix • Neutered Male • 2 Years Old • 11 lbs

Tommy is a gentle little soul with a quiet heart and a story that deserves to be heard. Despite everything he has been through, he remains a calm, sweet, and loving boy who simply wants to feel safe and know that he is finally home.

Tommy is independent and very well-behaved. He is not a barker, is not destructive, and gets along beautifully with other dogs. He enjoys sharing his bed and space with his canine friends and is crate-trained. He has a peaceful nature and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a gentle dog to share life’s quiet moments with.
Sadly, Tommy’s life before rescue was heartbreaking. He was surrendered to the CAC (Canine Care Center) along with several other dogs after their owner reportedly mistreated them and brought them there to be euthanized. Thankfully, a rescuer stepped in and gave Tommy and the others a second chance.

When Tommy was rescued, he was in poor physical condition. Of all the dogs, he appears to have suffered the most abuse. His experiences have left him somewhat shy and cautious, but never aggressive. He may need a little patience and kindness while he learns that people can be trusted and that he will never again have to be afraid.

Tommy does not ask for much—just a safe place to rest, a gentle hand, and someone who will give him the time and love he deserves. Beneath his shy exterior is a sweet little dog waiting for the chance to feel secure, loved, and truly part of a family.
