Meet achilles
Achilles is a 3–4-year-old Xoloitzcuintli weighing approximately 60 pounds. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped.
Achilles is a sweet, bouncy guy who enjoys affection and being part of whatever his people are doing. He has a playful side and has been living successfully with Nuno and Vintorez in his foster home. He can be wary of children, so we are looking for an adult home or one without young children where his boundaries will be understood and respected.
Like many primitive-breed dogs, Achilles isn’t a dog for someone looking for a typical easygoing family pet. He needs an adopter who understands primitive breeds, their independence, their sensitivity, and the importance of allowing trust to develop on the dog’s terms. Previous primitive breed experience is required.
Achilles has a chicken allergy and is currently eating Inukshuk Marine 26/16. He is also heartworm positive, and his treatment is currently being addressed. HHHT will discuss his treatment and medical needs in detail with potential adopters.
Achilles may potentially be adopted with Nuno, and the two could make a wonderful pair for the right experienced home.
If you’re looking for a beautiful, quirky, affectionate Xolo and understand that earning the trust of a primitive breed is part of the relationship, Achilles may be your guy.
