Meet Ryla: Professional Lap Dog, Part-Time Shadow, Full-Time Good Girl

Hi, I’m Ryla! I’m a tiny black-and-white sweetheart with excellent ears, impeccable manners, and one very important life goal: to be as close to my person as physically possible.

I can be a little shy when we first meet, but don’t let that fool you. Give me a few minutes and there’s a very good chance I’ll be in your lap, under your blanket, or gently reminding you that you have two perfectly functional hands for belly rubs.

My foster says I’m one of the happiest, sweetest, easiest little dogs around. I’m mellow, quiet, playful when the mood strikes, and an extremely dedicated snuggler. I quickly become my human’s little shadow and best buddy. If you sit down, I consider that an invitation.

I’m also suspiciously well behaved. I sleep through the night, do great in my crate, walk nicely on leash, know that potty time happens outside, and haven’t had any accidents in the house. I rarely bark or whine unless I actually need something—because apparently I believe in effective communication.

I’m doing just fine with my foster dog brother and am curious about other dogs, although I’m pretty indifferent most of the time. My one request? If I am currently cuddling my human, please respect the reservation. Personal space is important when it belongs to me.

I came to rescue as a stray from Los Angeles, but I’m more than ready for my next chapter: a cozy couch, a loving family, plenty of blankets, and a permanent lap to call my own.

If you’re looking for a tiny, mellow, affectionate sidekick who is equal parts sweetheart, cuddle bug, and very good girl, I may just be your girl. Fair warning: I become your best friend very quickly.
