Meet Jack B. Nimble!
Lazy… lazy… IS THAT FOOD?! Lazy… lazy… let me climb into your lap…WAIT, YOU HAVE TREATS?!Lazy… lazy…Ohhh, a leash?! I LOVE WALKS!And then… you guessed it… back to lazy.
That pretty much sums up senior beagle Jack B. Nimble, and honestly, this lovable old hound is pretty darn close to perfect. Available 10/2/26
Jack is a friendly, easygoing love bug who hasn't met a stranger. He happily soaked up all the attention during a recent trip to Tractor Supply, where he was quite proud of himself for charming the cashier out of some treats. Because, if there's one thing Jack takes seriously, it's FOOD.
At home, Jack is mostly a professional lounger and snuggler. He'll slowly make his way onto your lap until somehow the entire beagle has taken up residence there. He's calm in the house but still has a little pep in his step and will occasionally play with his canine foster siblings. He's been wonderful with all the dogs in his foster home.
Jack is about 99% house trained, doesn't chew things he shouldn't and has been an all-around wonderful houseguest. Just keep an eye on that water intake—when Jack takes one of his big drinks, he'll need a potty break shortly afterward.
And while his first love may be the couch—or possibly food—Jack loves his walks! Just remember that there's still a beagle underneath that distinguished senior exterior. His nose can take over, so he may pull on leash when an especially interesting smell demands investigation. He'll also take advantage of an open door or opportunity to follow that nose on an unscheduled adventure, so his family will need to be mindful about keeping him safely contained.
If your idea of the perfect companion is a sweet senior hound who wants to eat your snacks, take a leisurely walk, climb into your lap and then spend the rest of the day doing absolutely nothing with you, Jack B. Nimble may just be your guy.
Give this elder beagle gentleman a soft place to land for his golden years. We have a feeling he'll make himself right at home—especially if he spots the treat jar.
