Oliver has been doing a lot of brave things lately 🦁: Trying toys. Walking on a leash. Exploring the backyard. Riding in the car. Learning that squeaky toys make weird noises but probably aren’t dangerous. 😂

For most puppies, that's everyday stuff. But for Oliver, it's all pretty new. ✨

Oliver is a 5-month-old Terrier mix who came from a hoarding situation. Despite not getting the typical puppy experience early on, he's making up for lost time. ⏱️ He's curious about his new world (cautious at first), but quick to trust and love, and every day he's getting braver. 💪 He weighs 14 lbs now and will be 40 lbs or less when full-grown.

Oliver loves playing with other dogs, so a furry sibling 🐶 to show him the ropes would be wonderful, but isn’t required. He's also great with kids and takes treats gently. Cats are unknown.

He'll chase a ball… but isn’t sure what to do when he catches up to it. 🙃 When he's not playing or getting backyard zoomies, Oliver is a pretty mellow fellow. 🧘‍♂️🪷 He loves being near his people and is the BEST snuggler – he'll melt into your arms and fall asleep (could he BE any cuter? 🥹).

Oliver is house-trained with continued supervision, knows “sit,” and is learning his name plus “no,” “come,” and “stay.” He's mostly crate trained and sleeps there or in bed at night.

Food is one area where Oliver still needs reassurance. Before rescue, he had to compete for meals. He shows no food aggression, but he's always interested in finding more and will try to help his dog friends finish theirs. He's fed separately and is already improving as he learns another meal is always coming. ❤️ Oliver would thrive in a patient home on the calmer side, where he can discover new things at his own pace.

There are still lots of firsts waiting for Oliver. His first favorite toy. His first real game of fetch (he'll get there 😂). And hopefully, his first day home with the family he'll grow up loving. 🫶

His $300 adoption fee includes his neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccines and heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. Meet-and-greets will be scheduled with approved adopters.
