Meet Koopa: Professional Sidekick, Adventure Buddy & Certified Goofball Koopa came to PAWS as an owner-surrender when his previous family's busy lifestyle and household turned out to be a little too much for this sensitive guy. And that's really the key to understanding Koopa: This goofy boy sometimes finds the world a little intimidating - and he'd really like a person to explore it with.Koopa's dream human is someone who's home most of the time and thinks, "Of course the dog is coming!" when they head out. He has separation anxiety and isn't a dog who enjoys being left behind, but luckily, Koopa is an excellent adventure buddy. He LOVES riding in the car and settles in calmly and quietly for the trip. He's also so well-mannered out in public, too - he even recently joined his foster mom at a brewery and had a fantastic time hanging out and taking in the world. Koopa adores canine friends. He was a regular at the dog park in his previous home, happily plays with other dogs of all sizes, and will be trying out doggy daycare soon. A playful canine sibling could be a great match for him and may even help this slightly nervous boy continue building his confidence.At home, Koopa is an adorable guy who is eager to please - especially if snacks are involved. He's treat-motivated, knows his basic skills, and his foster family is currently working on his recall. He's making progress, although Koopa sometimes prefers the backyard to the inside of the house.Koopa sleeps like a rock, so he can occasionally startle if he's suddenly woken up. His future family should be mindful of giving him a moment to wake up before expecting him to join them.More than anything, Koopa needs someone patient who will gently help him discover that the world can actually be pretty great.
