Hi there! My name is Duchess, and I'm a sweet 5-year-old Lab mix looking for my forever family. I'm a calm, easygoing girl who is happiest with a couple of nice walks each day and plenty of time to relax with my people. I'm completely housebroken and absolutely love my crate. In fact, you'll often find me lounging in it with the door wide open! I don't need to be crated when my family is away because I'm very trustworthy and don't chew on things that aren't mine. I currently live with a canine foster sister, and I'm very respectful of her space. We enjoy going for walks together, and I walk beautifully on a regular flat collar. I also share my home with a cat, and we get along just fine. I'm a little shy when meeting new people, but once I realize you're a friend, my loving personality quickly shines through. My foster parents even took me to their job site, where I met lots of new people and experienced all kinds of sights and sounds. I handled it like a champ! I do enjoy exploring, so a securely fenced yard would be wonderful. If you don't have a fence, that's okay tooas long as I'm kept on a leash while we're out enjoying adventures together. While my foster family was on vacation, another volunteer cared for me, and I did great meeting a 4-year-old child. I also live with two teenage boys and love following them around the house to see what they're up to. At night, I quietly sleep on my foster parents' bedroom floor or on my dog bed without making a peep. One of my favorite things is sitting outside in the sunshine, watching the world go by. Oh, and I'm an excellent passenger in the car, too!
