Welcome to DREAM Ned!!! You are finally right where you need to be!
Ned came to DREAM from animal control. He had wounds on his body, was very sick, starving, and could not even stand. Ned showed his true nature even in his weakened state. Once given something to eat, he wagged his tail to show just how appreciative he is. His teeth were an absolute mess and his bloodwork showed he was fighting that infection. The veterinarian found Ned was already missing 14 teeth and had to have 17 pulled because of infection. Good news, his canines and remaining 11 teeth are healthy and he has no problem eating.
Ned weighed 10.2 lbs at Intake and was emaciated at that weight. Since coming to DREAM, his foster mom has helped him gain a couple of pounds and his fur is filling out.
Ned does well with potty training as long as he is taken out often. He loves being with his person and sleeps quietly through the night. A couple of times he has woken his foster mom in the middle of the night to tell her he needs to go out. As soon as he goes out, he does his business, and goes right back to bed.
Ned does well with other dogs and kiddos. He is indifferent to cats and chooses to ignore them
Ned is a cuddler extraordinaire and wants to be someone’s bestest boy.

All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Ned will go to his / her new home microchipped, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed.
Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit.
DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia.
Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part.
DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
