We are looking to rehome our 2-year-old, 75-pound Shepherd mix to an experienced dog owner. His DNA results are 27% Australian Shepherd, 26% Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler), 24% German Shepherd, 17% Great Pyrenees, and 6% Miniature Australian Shepherd.
He is a sweet, gentle, affectionate dog who is fully house-trained, great with our other dog, and wonderfully behaved inside the home. He is not destructive, doesn't counter-surf, and loves his people.
Outside and at doggy daycare, he has started to struggle with leash reactivity and barrier frustration. When overwhelmed by unfamiliar dogs or neighborhood children, he has occasionally snapped/nipped at them but has never bitten or broken skin. Our busy neighborhood has proven to be too stressful for him, so we believe he would thrive in a quieter home with fewer triggers.
His ideal home is with an experienced owner who understands reactive dogs, has a securely fenced yard and no young kids.
