Ruby – A Precious Gem Looking for Her Forever Family Every great story has a beginning, and Ruby's begins with the incredible love of a mother. Once upon a time, there was a desperate, pregnant Great Pyrenees mama dog searching for a safe place to bring her babies into the world. After searching high and low, she found a small rental house with a shed out back. Quietly, she dug herself a shelter beneath the house and, all alone, gave birth to ten beautiful puppies. She had no family of her own, no one bringing her food or water, and no safe place to raise her babies. When the tenant discovered the tiny family, she also alerted the landlord—who wanted the puppies gone and even threatened to drown them and throw their devoted mama out. Their future was hanging by a thread. Thankfully, Critter Cavalry Rescue was called. At just three days old, the ten precious puppies and mama were whisked away to the safety of an experienced foster home where this little family could finally rest, grow, and simply be together. Lady Anne, a beautiful Great Pyrenees weighing about 70 pounds, lovingly raised her babies for seven wonderful weeks before they moved into smaller foster homes to receive even more individual attention, socialization, and love. One of those precious puppies is Ruby...and she truly lives up to her gemstone name. Ruby is exactly what you'd hope for in a Great Pyrenees puppy—gentle, intelligent, affectionate, and quietly observant. While the world buzzes around her, Ruby often takes a moment to sit back and watch before happily joining the fun. She has a calm confidence about her that makes everyone fall in love. She absolutely melts when she's scooped up for cuddles and happily soaks up every bit of affection you have to give. Nothing seems to ruffle this sweet girl's feathers, and her easygoing personality makes her a joy to have around. Ruby is doing wonderfully with house training and puppy pads and is proving to be one very smart little lady. She is growing up with a huge Golden Retriever, a 60-pound Husky, a Rat Terrier, a Schnauzer mix, and several of her siblings, so she's wonderfully social and comfortable around dogs of every size and personality. She is expected to mature around her mama's 70-pound size and will no doubt become a breathtakingly beautiful companion with the loyal, loving heart Great Pyrenees are famous for.
