Looking for a dog who already knows his manners, walks like a dream on a leash, and loves to cuddle at the foot of the bed? Meet Jasper! At a compact 30 pounds, Jasper is the perfect medium-sized companion who is loyal and incredibly smart. He’s an almost 2 year old (22 months) blue merle Australian Shepherd. He has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on shots. He has a lovely fluffy tail and heterochromia (brown/blue) eyes.

Jasper is a highly trainable boy who loves to show off his skills. He already knows "Sit," "Stay," "Off," "Wait," and "Come." Jasper walks beautifully on a leash, making daily strolls a relaxing and enjoyable experience. He loves to be near his humans. His previous home must have pampered him because he likes to quietly sneak up to the foot of the bed at night to sleep soundly through the night.

Jasper is a devoted dog who bonds deeply with his people, but he has a few specific needs to ensure he stays happy and successful.

- The Only Royalty (No Other Pets): Jasper needs to be the only pet in the home. He prefers to have all the love to himself and is not a candidate for homes with other dogs, cats, or small animals.

- A "Work-from-Home" or Retired Human: Jasper thrives on human companionship and needs an owner who is home with him most of the day.

- No Shared Walls (Single-Family Home): Jasper has some big feelings about being crated when you leave. Because he will bark when crated, he needs a house where his vocalizations won't disturb close neighbors (no apartments or townhomes). Jasper has a fear of storms/fireworks and will pace and pant. However he will settle down when wearing a Thundershirt while snuggled up to his person.

- Adults-Only or Older Teens: Jasper is working hard on his impulse control and would benefit from obedience training. He still gets a bit too excited and jumps up to say hello, so a home without small children is best while he finishes learning to keep all four paws on the floor.

Jasper is a sweet, intelligent shadow who will dedicate himself entirely to his new family. If you have a quiet home, a spot at the end of your bed, and plenty of time to spend together, Jasper is ready to be your ultimate best friend!
