Meet aubergine (aubie)
Aubie is an empathetic, playful, and cuddly dog. She loves to play fetch, go on walks/runs/bike rides, and engage in training sessions (and she's a pretty fast learner too). Due to her intelligence and focus, she has quite a bit of anxiety, which is improved with routines that include physical and mental exercise, as well as her medications. Aubie can be territorial and has a strong guard dog instinct. She has lived with another dog for her entire life, but I think she’d be better off in a single dog household or with a very experienced dog owner.
Aubie is a wonderful dog and a great friend, and it breaks my heart that I can’t keep her. My friend is giving her up because she does not fit into a New York City lifestyle and has considered surrendering her to a shelter. We are bringing her to Colorado in the hopes she can find a new home where she has space to run around and make a new family or person happy. In order to save her life, I am trying to give her one she deserves.
