Meet Santiago

Santi is an adorable, spunky mid-aged, mid-sized guy! We don’t know what Santi’s breed mix is, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he had Chihuahua somewhere in there. He is definitely past his puppy years but still has plenty of spark left in him!

We weren’t sure what to make of Santi at first— he can be stiff and barky and has very intense eyes— but he proved us wrong and by the end of playgroup, we were all in love with him!

Santi comes out of his kennel easily and walks well on leash, except for his tendency to spin a circle randomly as we walk. In the yard, he’s happy to do his own thing and be near the group but not part of the ruckus! He’s a confident guy around other dogs and carries himself as such!

Though Santi is happy to keep himself entertained, he also really likes people. He would come check in with us often and would nudge our hands for attention and pets. He also liked to sit on my feet and just hang out, which was super cute!

Santi did great in playgroup!! He carries himself very confidently with dogs and seems to command the space he is in. He coexisted great with other dogs and was tolerant, even with annoying young dogs and groups of dogs running into him. However, I do not feel that Santi would do well with a dominant male. He has dominant energy, which another dominant dog may take as a threat, and it will likely lead to conflict. A neutral or submissive friendly dog would be best!
