Ebony is a 6.5 yr old Newfoundland. We’ve only had her a few days now but are learning just how sweet this old girl is. She’s a bit of a Velcro dog and wants to be with her people always! She has a cute habit of picking up and carrying around her leash or any toy she finds. Her favorite toy is her hedgehog with her hippo being a close second. She was shier when we first got her but is coming out of her shell and being more outgoing!

So far, she’s been very quiet and doesn’t make much noise, unless you leave her behind. She might give a few whines in hopes that you just forgot that she was supposed to come along. She loves a good romp outside to run around, play a little fetch and possibly dig a hole or two. On the flip side she has no problem lying on the floor and just chilling out. We have 4 other dogs in the home, and she can be a little protective of her space/food/water with them. She plays fantastic with them when outside of “her space”. They run around and wrestle together frequently. That being said, she would thrive in a home with fewer pets and the capability of having someone home most of the day. She has been warming up to the other dogs the longer she’s here, so she definitely can thrive with another doggy companion!

Ebony wants to be everywhere you are; she will rub her head on you and is always up to give you a nice wet kiss when the chance arises! She does well with meeting new dogs and people when she is with her human. She gets pretty scared if someone comes into the house without her human being there and she will cower and hide. She isn’t afraid of much, but if very loud sounds catch her off guard, she might get frightened other than that no household sounds bother her! She is fully house trained, no accidents here. She is crate trained but doesn’t use it much. She knows sit when she feels like it, lay down is a work in progress. She’s nothing but a lady on the leash, she’s happy to walk very slowly and doesn’t need or really want to stop and sniff. Ebony will bring a smile to your face anytime you see her, she is always so excited to see you even if you just left the room a minute ago!
